The TLC Rental Marketplace Team

Natanyah Menna, Founder

As a successful entrepreneur, my career and strong connections in the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) rental industry began over a decade ago. I continue to be a pivotal player in the business through my personal fleet, TLC Rental Marketplace, and now, TLC Plate Marketplace.

I built my family-owned and operated fleet-based company from the ground up, rooted in my personal experiences. My late mother, a single parent of five children, inspired me and introduced me to the transportation industry. As the oldest child, I watched her drive everything from limos and town cars to taxis, and she thrived in the fast-paced New York City hustle. When Uber started in the city, she jumped on board and started her own private company. I owe her a debt of gratitude because she instilled in me a strong work ethic and a never-give-up attitude. Uber’s rapid growth reshaped the industry and piqued my interest. At the time, I became ready to re-enter the workforce, having raised my daughter for several years, and I actively sought a new business opportunity. Then, I learned that my other relative drove a rental car from one of the largest TLC rental fleets in the city – that’s when I realized I wanted to become a vital part of this growing enterprise!

I built my own fleet and still actively rent my TLC cars on a weekly basis to licensed TLC drivers to fulfill all their rideshare needs. The process taught me a great deal, which led to the highly successful operation of the TLC Rental Marketplace and the emerging TLC Plate Marketplace.

I launched the TLC Rental Marketplace because, as a fleet owner, I encountered roadblocks that hindered our company’s growth. I knew the business would boost if I advertised our available TLC vehicles on a well-managed platform. Soon, I learned that numerous fleet owners agreed the forum was a worthwhile venture.

My instincts told me that for the TLC Rental Marketplace to thrive, I must seriously consider the drivers’ needs. New York City TLC drivers are the hardest-working around. We live in the only city in the world that requires rideshare drivers to have a TLC license and TLC insurance. Rideshare drivers experience several obstacles unlike anywhere else. They work long hours and get hit with DMV fees and TLC violations. Due to these exorbitant costs, most city drivers rent vehicles weekly. However, as a fleet owner, I have an advantage. I am able to keep my weekly costs down by renting out only hybrid cars.

Although the ride wasn’t always smooth in this tough industry where one mistake can be costly, some terrific people blessed me with their time and wisdom, especially my late sister Elisha, a kind, gentle, loving soul who championed my efforts, lifted my spirits, and even worked for me for free to support my burgeoning company. I know that she is still cheering me on. I maintain solid relationships – an invaluable commodity in the industry – with my TLC insurance brokers and auto body shops. Today, I am proud to say that many of my drivers, who have been with me for years, became my friends.

Recently, I developed TLC Plate Marketplace to create a sister platform that will easily connect buyers and sellers of TLC corporations with TLC plates. Our team will support you and help you achieve a satisfying deal. Check out our new website and become an exclusive member!

As we continue to work diligently to make the TLC Rental Marketplace and now, TLC Plate Marketplace, successful arenas to connect drivers and fleet owners and foster their growth, we welcome your feedback!
